====== Walking ====== {{tablelayout?rowsHeaderSource=Auto}} ^ **//Walking//** || ^ {{ ::universaltech:walking.mp4 }}|| ^ Tech Type | Universal | ^ Difficulty | Basic Mechanics | ^ Character Dependent | No | ^ Inputs | Move (WASD) | **Walking** is the most common movement action in Deadlock. Walking allows your character to navigate around midtown. When you start walking, you will begin to start accelerating towards a peak speed which is dependent on character, which can be increased with items ((e.g. Vitality items //Sprint Boots// and //Enduring Speed//, Spirit item //Slowing Hex//.)) When you stop walking, you will gradually decelerate to a complete stop ((This acceleration and deceleration towards your top speed can be seen in other Source games, like //Team Fortress 2// and the //Counter Strike// series.)). You can also walk while crouching. When crouch walking, you will move at a speed of ''4.8'' m/s. ===== Characters whose Move Speed Increases with Spirit Power ===== Certain characters have move speed that scales with Spirit (signified by this symbol: ); move speed increases by a set coefficient that depends on character.((For example, Grey Talon's move speed scales with Spirit at a coefficient of ×0.025. If buys the Spirit item //Improved Spirit// which grants a total of 42 Spirit Power, he gains an additional ''1.05'' m/s of move speed.)) {{tablelayout?rowsHeaderSource=Auto}} ^ __Character__ ^ __Base Move Speed (m/s)__ ^ __Scaling Coefficient__ ^ | Grey Talon | 6.3 | ×0.025 | | Seven | 7.1 | ×0.023 | | Sinclair | 7.3 | ×0.023 | | Vyper | 7.0 | ×0.023 | ===== Items that increase/decrease Move Speed ===== Certain items that have the //+Move Speed// stat increase walk speed: ^ Price (Souls) ^ Type of Item ^ Item Name ^ Move Speed Increase (m/s) ^ | 1,250 | Weapon | //Fleetfoot// | +3 (Active) | | 1,250 | Vitality | //Divine Barrier// | +2 (Active) | | 1,750 | Vitality | //Enduring Speed// | +1.1 | | 3,000 | Weapon | //Burst Fire// | +2 (Conditional) | | 3,000 | Vitality | //Fortitude// | +2 (Conditional) | | 3,000 | Weapon | //Heroic Aura// | +1 | | 3,000 | Spirit | //Surge of Power// | +2 (Conditional) | | 3,500 | Weapon | //Headhunter// | +2 (Conditional) | | 6,000 | Spirit | //Echo Shard// | +1 | | 6,000 | Weapon | //Glass Cannon// | +1 | | 6,000 | Weapon | //Vampiric Burst// | +2 | | 6,000 | Vitality | //Veil Walker// | +4 (Conditional) | Certain items have the //-Move Speed// stat. Sprinting in Deadlock is a passive action — no further action is required to sprint. When sprinting, you near instantly accelerate up to 10 m/s, then gain approximately 1 m/s every second above that threshold. Sprinting characters can be identified by the grey speed lines coming off them. You cannot sprint while zooming in using alt-fire (by default, right click). Every character has a base of 2 m/s sprint speed except for the following characters: * Bebop, with a base of 4.5 m/s; * Lady Geist, with a base of 3 m/s; * Lash, with base of 2.5 m/s; * Warden, with a base of 2.5 m/s. When characters are sprinting: * If they have been damaged by an enemy hero, sprint will be disabled for 4 seconds, which can be significantly slower. * If they have been damaged by a non-hero, sprint will be disabled for 0.5 seconds. * If they are firing, they will move significantly slower (around ~70% of their base walk speed) until the character stops firing . * With the Weapon item //Fleetfoot//, they will move at their base walk speed if they hit a target. Ivy has the unique passive attribute of ignoring the speed penalty when firing; she is able to fire while walking and sprinting without slowing down. ==== Gaining Sprint Speed from Runes ==== This is further elaborated on the main section on **Runes**. [[universaltech:Runes|Click]] to see the main article. Sprint speed can be obtained by picking up the Movement Rune on the bridges between the inner and outer lanes. The Movement rune grants a temporary +3 m/s sprint speed buff for 160 seconds. ==== Characters whose Sprint Speed Increases with Spirit Power ==== Certain characters have their sprint speed scale with Spirit Power; this is indicated with the symbol . The equation for sprint speed scaling with Spirit Power is $ FinalSprintSpeed = BaseSprintSpeed + (Spirit Power \times Coefficient) $ ^ __Character__ ^ __Base Sprint Speed (m/s)__ ^ __Scaling Coefficient__ ^ | Wraith | 2 | ×0.06 | ==== Items that increase Sprint Speed ==== Certain items that have the //+Sprint Speed// stat increase sprint speed: {{tablelayout?rowsHeaderSource=Auto}} ^ Price (Souls) ^ Type of Item ^ Item Name ^ Sprint Speed Increase (m/s) ^ | 500 | Spirit | //Ammo Scavenger// | +2 (Conditional) | | 500 | Vitality | //Healing Rite// | +2 (Conditional) | | 500 | Vitality | //Rapid Rounds// | +1 | | 500 | Weapon | //Sprint Boots// | +1.5 | | 1,250 | Vitality | //Divine Barrier// | +1 | | 1,250 | Spirit | //Withering Whip// | +1 | | 1,750 | Vitality | //Enduring Speed// | +1.5 | | 3,000 | Weapon | //Alchemical Fire// | +1 | | 3,000 | Spirit | //Silence Glyph// | +1 | | 3,500 | Spirit | //Spirit Snatch// | +1 | | 3,500 | Spirit | //Improved Spirit// | +1 | | 3,500 | Vitality | //Rescue Beam// | +1 | | 4,250 | Spirit | //Mystic Slow// | +1 | | 9,800 | Spirit | //Boundless Spirit// | +2 | ===== Base Walk and Sprint Speed per character ===== TODO
